Obituary of Grace Gonzalez

Grace E. Gonzalez (nee Fitzgerald) Age 94. Passed away Saturday, August 18, 2007 at her late Joliet residence. Born December 28, 1912 in Tiskilwa, IL to the late Patrick and Mary Catherine (Burke) Fitzgerald. Employed by the United States Government for 30 years with assignments in Washington, D.C., Caracas, Venezuela and retiring from the Army Procurement and Supply Agency (APSA) in Joliet in 1971. Grace was an avid reader and enjoyed studying languages, took long walks nearly every day, and traveled extensively throughout Europe after her retirement. Special thanks are extended to her kind and compassionate live in caregivers who, for the past 11 years, gave her continuous care in her home. Our love and appreciation go out to Jenna, Theresa, Giedre, Nellie, Maria, Ina, Aldonna, Loretta, Ilona, Lydia, and Mila. Surviving are one son, P. Tim (Cynthia) Gonzalez of Joliet; one sister, Bridget (late Joseph) Garavalia of Joliet, and nine nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Jose Novinsky Gonzalez; two sisters, Patricia Canute and Mary Kuna; and four brothers, Gerald, Robert, Raymond, and Joseph Fitzgerald. Funeral services for Grace E. Gonzalez will be Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
