Obituary of Shirley M. Johnson-Seidler
Shirley M. Johnson-Seidler, age 90, of Morris, Illinois, and formerly Shorewood, IL passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Morris Hospital. She was born August 4, 1930, to the late Peter and Astrid (nee Anderson) Hausken in Seneca, IL where she was raised and educated. She was active in her church and enjoyed gardening, baking, collecting Christmas figurines, and doting over her beloved dog, Daisy.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. Johnson; her second husband, Kenneth W. Seidler; her parents; sisters, Evelyn (Marvin) Swenhaugen, Clara (Mark) Hauge, Lois (Earl Anderson), Doris (Carl Olson) and brothers, Russell (Vera), Orville (Jean), Earl (Lois), and Norman Hausken.
Surviving are her sister, Helen Baker; children, Lea Anne Johnson, Eric (Dori) Johnson and Michael Johnson; grandchildren, Adam Johnson, Ken Johnson, Lynnette Stewart, and Nick Stewart; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Autumn, Summer, Winter, Lacy, Joshua, Kyrstin, and Kaytlyn Johnson and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her six step-children and their families.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all who were blessed to have known her.
Visitation for Shirley will be held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 (at Deerpath Drive), Morris, Illinois on Monday, April 26, 2021, from 9:00 -10:30 a.m. A short prayer service will follow the visitation at 10:30 a.m. All visitors will be required to wear masks and social distance.
Due to the pandemic and the desire to keep all safe, funeral services and interment will be private. Shirley’s final resting place will be in Stavanger Lutheran Cemetery, East 30th Road, Seneca, IL.
