James M. Gorczynski
Age 66. At rest Monday, November 26, 2007 at his late residence in Wilmington, IL, with his family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 8, 1941 in Chicago, IL, a resident of Chicago until 1965. A resident of Lemont for 31 years, relocating to the Wilmington/Braidwood area for the past ten years. His love of travel for the past two years brought him primarily to Brackettville, TX. A United States Marine Corp Veteran serving from 1958 to 1961. James was a carpenter and was employed with the Chicago Transit Authority from 1962 until his retirement in 1994. Former co-owner and operator of Twins Pizzeria in Lemont. A long time member of the Lemont JC's. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Josephine (nee Kaleta) Gorczynski.
Survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Linda (nee Coots) Gorczynski of Wilmington; two daughters, Kathleen (Steven) Tibble of Shorewood and Cynthia (Ronald) Coyle of Lemont; four grandchildren, Robert and Luke Coyle; David and Stephanie Tibble; three brothers; two aunts; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services for James M. Gorczynski will be Friday, November 30, 2007 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Marine Corps. In lieu of flowers, donations to Toys for Tots c/o the U.S. Marine Corps would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at:
