Obituary of Rob Long
Rob Long, age 53, of Wilmington, IL, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 19, 2021, with Jesus and his family at his side. He was born July 15, 1967 in New Lenox, IL to the loving parents, Joe and Sandy Long.
He grew up in New Lenox, IL and graduated from Ridgewood Baptist Academy in Joliet, IL. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local 174 where he worked as a Trim Carpenter for over 30 years.
His faith was very important to him and instilled a deep love of Jesus into his sons. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed cheering for the Dallas Cowboys.
Rob is survived by his loving mother, Sandy (Floyd) Gordon; Fiancé, Trisha Kroner; children, Jordan Long, Jackson Long, and Melanie (Joseph) Ruhe, Peter Kroner; grandchildren, Evan, Noah, and Micah Ruhe; sister, Kim (Gary) Kempke. Many dear friends and family members also survive.
Preceded in death by his father, Joe Long.
A visitation for Rob Long will be held at Ridgewood Baptist Church, 1968 Hillcrest Road, Joliet, IL., on May 24, 2021from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet, IL.
