Ann and family,
Harry was a fantastic mailman which is how we first met him many years ago. Steve considers him a very good friend and enjoyed bowling with him on Monday Night League. Steve fondly remembers a night at the alley where he had Harry in stitches with laughter. There was a fellow on their team (won't name any names) that was bragging about his new Rolex and constantly kept lifting his arm up and shaking it so every one would notice it. They all were getting pretty tired of it until Steve lifted his arm and said "Look Harry, my 15.00 watch from Walmart has the same exact time as his Rolex!" Steve said Harry (and others) laughed hysterically. He will never forget his laughter. He was a great guy, a great friend.
We pray that you Ann and your family remember that all the tears that you cry are proof of just how much he was loved. Our hearts are hurting with you.

"Rocker" and I worked together 33 years ago at the Braidwood power plant. Harry had house size speakers in the back of his car and would blare rock & roll music as he drove (hence the name "Rocker"). He always had something witty to say and always made people smile. Although we hadn't seen each other since, he would call every couple of years just to say "hello". I will sadly miss those calls. Prayers for everyone!

I send my condolences to the family of Harry Metzen, especially his wife, Anna and daughter, Anita. Harry was our postman out on Lakewood Drive for years. Even before that, we worked at LaSalle Station together during construction of the plant. Harry was always a hard worker and fun to talk to. Sorry to hear the news.
