Obituary of John Grace

John Franklin Grace Age 83. At rest Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Morris Hospital. Born in Medill, MO, he moved to Verona, IL in 1942 where he was a lifelong area resident, living in Morris the past six years. Graduate of Mazon High School Class of 1946. Formerly employed as a carpenter with the Carpenters Union of Grundy County. John began his farming career in the mid 1960's in the Verona/Kinsman area. Member of Calvary Temple Church in Naperville, serving his church as a greeter for over 25 years. An avid gardener, who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was a strong father figure to his nieces and nephews. Surviving are two daughters, Vickie (Donald) Lowery of Morris, and Sharon Michal (Walter) Carr of St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren, Tracy (Jeremy) Hughes of Morris, and Eric Lowery of Mazon, two great-grandchildren, Madison and Mylie Hughes; one sister, Virginia Walsh of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded by his best friend and loving wife, Janice E. Grace (2005); his daughter, Marilyn Grace (1963); parents, Roy and Pauline Grace; two brothers, Howard and Robert Grace. Funeral Services for John Franklin Grace will be Monday, June 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Ward Cemetery in Verona. Visitation Sunday 2-6 p.m. at: FRED C.
