Arthur John Kryzaniak
Arthur John Kryzaniak, age 84, a resident of Shorewood for the past 16 years, and a former resident of Chicago and Naperville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Edward Hospital in Naperville.
Art was born December 4, 1936, in Chicago, and was the son of John and Helen (Remian) Krzyzaniak. He attended St. Pancratius Grade School and was a proud graduate of Tilden Tech High School. After high school, he attended college and received technical training in auto repair.
Art was the owner and operator of A. J. Auto Repair on Roosevelt Road in Lombard for many years where he had many customers who were like family.
He loved to dance and was an active member of the Let’s Polka USA Club. He also enjoyed traveling, especially ocean cruises, riding his Honda trike motorcycle, and spending time on the golf course with his friends.
Art is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Geraldine A. (Kroschel) Kryzaniak of Shorewood; his children who he dearly loved, Terese “Teri” Fawcett of Minooka, IL, Arthur John Kryzaniak, Jr. of Slidell, LA, and Gail Ann (Stanton) Bockwoldt of Shullsburg, WI; four adoring grandchildren, Hayden and Carter Fawcett and Katrina and Candice Kryzaniak; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Arlene Burger.
Funeral services for Arthur John Kryzaniak will be held at 9:15 a.m., on Friday, July 23, 2021, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., (at Essington Rd.), Joliet to the Church of St. Jude, 2212 McDonough Street, Joliet, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Church of St. Jude Building Fund or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
