Obituary of Judith A. Booklund

Age 83 of Joliet, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center.  She was born July 15, 1938 in Joliet, the daughter of the late Harold T. and Helen B. (Wilmette) Booklund. Following an extensive teaching career in numerous states, she moved back to Joliet in 1997.  Judi retired from St. Pius X Grade School in Lombard, IL.  She formerly served the Order of Adrian Dominican Nuns of Adrian, MI as Sr. Barbara Thoma O.P.

Judi loved to travel and enjoyed tutoring her great-niece, Brooke, family gatherings, and raising yorkies.

Surviving are her sisters, Kay Dickinson and Barb Booklund both of Joliet; brother-in-law, George Donnelly of Joliet; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, as well as her canine companion, Cubby.

Judi is preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Booklund; sisters, Patricia Bailey, Sharon Muren, Janet Donnelly and Suellyn Booklund.

Visitation for Judi Booklund will be Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. Joliet, from 2:00-6:00 p.m.  Funeral Services will be Friday, July 30, 2021 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 710 W. Marion St., Joliet for Mass of a Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
