Obituary of Margaret O'Hara Dockendorf
Margaret O’Hara Dockendorf
Margaret O’Hara Dockendorf, was a caring aunt, sister, and friend. She left this world quietly on Monday, August 16, 2021, at the age of 77. She was currently residing at Rivers Crossings Nursing Home in Joliet, IL.
Margaret graduated from St. Francis Academy, and the very next day went to work for the Illinois Bell Telephone Company, where she was employed until she retired. Then, her post-retirement career consisted of working in several departments at Carson Pirie and Scott Company.
Margaret will be remembered for her sharp wit, no holds barred sense of humor, general zest for life, and how she could hold her own, singing any Irish song one can name. She was an adventurer at heart with many trips under her belt, especially those to Ireland and Poland with her dearest friends. Her fondest memories are likely time spent in Hayward, WI with family, and in the company of her two beloved nieces.
Most important was her unwavering faith that was the pillar of her life. Many friends and family members have undoubtedly benefited from her frequent and thoughtful prayers for loved ones (she may have shared her favorite prayer, the Memorare, with you).
Margaret is survived by her niece, Gina Frattini; and her brother-in-law, Lawrence Frattini.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Katherine and John Dockendorf; her sister, Anna Mae (Nancy) Frattini; her brother, John Dockendorf; beloved niece, Miranda (Mandy) Frattini; and her treasured uncle, Mr. Robert Dockendorf.
Funeral Services for Margaret O’Hara Dockendorf will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at St. Mary’s Church, 303 W. St. Mary’s Street, Minooka, where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to meet after mass at Woodlawn Mausoleum at 11:30 a.m. for committal services.
