I used to work with Mike years ago at 7-up/ Kemmerer Bottling. He was part of the Joliet crew, and I was part of the Chicago crew.Mike used to see me reading my newspaper every day at lunch. One day he came up to me and asked if he could see my TEMPO section, so that he could see his horoscope. This became a everyday thing.Soon we became good friends. I was a devout Sox fan, and Mike a devout Cubs fan.On top of that Mike went to JC, and I went to Marist. We often had spirited conversations regarding our teams. We would sometimes go out for a beer after work, and we often golfed together I very much enjoyed his company.I just found out about his passing, and feel terrible.I consider myself lucky to have known Mike, and call Mac Man my friend.

Our beloved Michael McQuillan!!! We will always carry with us the vison of the perennial glint in your Irish eyes and the radiant (and sometimes mischievous) smile on your face. You were family to the Weir clan and so many others at 30 W Oak for so many years. Your sense of humor and your humanity were infectious to all around you. We will miss you Michael and we offer our heartfelt condolences to your family.
Love

I remember when the McQuillans moved to Joliet and I first met Mike at Oakwood swimming pool. It was clear right away that he was an exceptionally nice guy and later in high school he was always so generous with rides to football practice in that cool Datsun (or Toyota?) he drove. As a grown man his very gentle heart was even more evident. Many prayers and deepest sympathies to your family.
