Obituary of Donald Raymond Evans

Age 77 of Crest Hill, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021, at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center.  He was born at home in Mantorville, MN the son of the late Carl and Laura (Scott) Evans, residing in Crest Hill the past 44 years.  He was formerly employed by Tricon Industries. 

Don was an active member of Shorewood Baptist Church. He was an accomplished handyman who was instrumental in providing home improvement services to his friends and neighbors.  When the Menards in Crest Hill opened it was Don’s designated second home.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Cynthia (Kirchner) Evans of Crest Hill; his children, James Evans of Montana, Rachel (Tim) Pote of Lockport, Bradley Evans of New Lenox, Chet (Ann) Evans of Elwood, Brett (Rachel) Evans of Minooka and Trent Evans of Crest Hill; 15 grandchildren; siblings, Larry Evans, Mary Hjermstav and Sylvia Delaney numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Don was preceded by his parents; and siblings, Charles Evans, Virgil Evans, Carl Evans Jr, Dorothy Witzel and Doris Noble.

Visitation for Donald Raymond Evans will be Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m.  Reverend Nathan Barber will be officiating.  Interment will be held privately by the family.
