I was the child who always followed your instructions to the letter, so it must have been a blow to you that I was also the one who gave you and Mama so much heartache. And yet, you accepted my faults because you said you were not a perfect person either.

I no longer have the letters we wrote to each other, but I always remember you fulfilling every promise you made in each note. When I am sad and frustrated, I see you crying softly, too.

I love how you love your apos and I got to accept your frustration when you felt I wasn't doing something right as a mother. I took that to mean that for you I am still your child. And I don't mind.

I wish I could have held your hand at least ... But I guess you didn't want to see me crying.

I will forever honor your memory. I love you, Pa.
