John Grepares
Age 75. Suddenly, Friday, May 11, 2007 at Silver Cross Hospital. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. A U.S. Army Koren War Veteran, serving with the 5th RCT. Member of the Operating Engineers Union Local #150, and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge in Lockport.
Preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Florence Grepares; and one sister, Belle Miller.
Survived by his loving wife of over 45 years, JoAnne (nee Surges) Grepares of Joliet; one son, Mark (Jackie) Grepares of Elwood; one daughter, Lisa (Rob) McGuire of Indianapolis, IN; one stepdaughter, Heidi Joutras of Crest Hill; five grandchildren, Mandy, Cindy and Faith; Cortnee and Sadie; one brother, Ted (Pat) Grepares of Houston, TX; three sisters, Frances (Angelo) Madonis of Florida, Mary Grepares of Rock Island, IL and Rena ("Taki") Meintanis of New Lenox; two uncles, Jim Volgar and Paul (Tula) Volgar; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services and interment for John Grepares will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
A visitation where all friends and family may gather, will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. at:
