"Larry"
Age 90. Passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Rose; his daughter, Kathy (late Jim) Frost and son, Larry W. (Mary Ellen) Gresser; three grandchildren, Karen (Ron) Talmadge, Kim (Dave) Warren and Matthew Gresser (friend Amy); four great-grandchildren, CS2(SW) Donald Martin Jr.,U.S. Navy, Kate and Lexie Nickle and Joshua Warren.
Preceded in death by parents Anthony and Mercedes Gresser and two sisters.
Retired from Durkee Foods; he was a U.S. Navy Veteran, an avid fisherman, hunter and camper who loved traveling, wood working and watching the Bears. He was a lifetime member of VFW Stone City Post #2199. Larry was also a volunteer worker for the Loyal Order of the Moose, Joliet Lodge #300 and the Senior Club, as well as a member of St. Mary Magdalene Church.
Thanks to St. Joseph and Silver Cross Hospitals, The Alden, Villa Franciscan, Joliet Area Community Hospice, Dr. Toor, and all the doctors and staff that helped him the past three months.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday October 20, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service to follow. Inurnment and Military Honors will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Arrangements by:
