Matthew T. Chouinard

Matthew T. Chouinard, passed away unexpectedly, on Monday, September 27, 2021, at the age of 35.  Matthew was born on December 26, 1985 and was the son of Patricia Connor.  Born and raised in Joliet, Matthew played hockey during his high school years.  He was a graduate of Plainfield South High School and went on to further his education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology.  

Matthew enjoyed taking in all that nature had to offer and felt at peace while doing so.  He was always one to be active outdoors, whether it was running, biking, canoeing, hiking, or camping.  Matthew also enjoyed being in the water, as he was a certified scuba diver.  

Matthew was a very supportive man.  He loved his family and his dog “Roxie” more than anything.     

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Connor; one sister, Emily (Jeff) LaRocque; two nieces, Josephine and Ramona LaRocque; his fiancé, Jean Nadonga; his grandparents, Matthew and Josephine Connor; and his devoted canine companion, “Roxie”.  Many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends also survive.

Funeral Services for Matthew T. Chouinard will be held privately by the family.  Inurnment took place at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to The Nature Conservancy, attention Treasury, 4245 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203, would be appreciated.
