Obituary of Jerome McCarthy
Jerome “Jerry” McCarthy born on February 8, 1934 in Chicago to Katherine Callaghan and Edward McCarthy, passed away at Lightways Hospice Home, Joliet, IL on October 2, 2021. Jerry was one of nine brothers and sisters who are all deceased. After attending high school in Chicago, he joined the United States Marines.
Married to Myrna for sixty years; with two sons, Kevin (Cheryl) and Timothy (Beth); three grandchildren, Kelly (Scott) Winkels, Callan (Lindsey) McCarthy, and Kelsey (Nick Zwolinski) McCarthy; presently, three great-grandchildren, Lilianna and Max Winkels, Jones McCarthy, and expecting Ty Zwolinski; brother to Colin and Bryce Zwolinski; two special friends, Jerry and Debbie Wall.
Jerry was a great husband, father, and grandfather. It is fortunate that he lived to be “Papa Jerry” to his great-grandchildren. It is sad that Jones and Ty will not have time with him.
A Memorial Gathering will be Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road (at Essington Road), Joliet, from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 Noon.
