Obituary of Dorothy M. Leliosh
Dorothy M. Leliosh, age 73, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center Joliet.
Born February 28, 1948 in LaCrosse, WI, she was the daughter of August H. and Adeline C. (Nelson) Walther.
Dorothy was a hard worker who loved her job at ZMX Transportation in Brookfield, where she continued to work until her final illness.
She will be remembered as a very special lady who touched the lives of many. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to cook. Dorothy’s family will miss her delicious desserts at all the family gatherings.
Surviving are her loving children, Richard Ausmus, Jr. of Lincoln, IL, Scott (Rose) Ausmus of Mayfield, KY, and Dawn Malec of Joliet, IL; 13 adoring grandchildren, Cassie (Jacob) Fulkerson, Amber (Clarke) Fulkerson, Tiffany (Steven) Stacey, Tina Ausmus, Scott (Cheyenne) Ausmus, Jr., Donald (Tia) Ausmus, Heather (Matt) Ausmus, Samantha Ausmus, Anthony Ausmus, Kenneth Ausmus, Jeremy (Maddee) Malec, Justin Malec and Dana Malec; many great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way; three sisters, June Van Wey of Des Moines, IA, May Heyming of LaCrosse, WI, and Margaret Noak of Morris, IL; numerous nieces and nephews; and her former husband and father of her children, Richard Ausmus, Sr., of Waverly, IL.
She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Ausmus; her husband, James Leliosh; her parents; and one brother, Joseph (Deanna) Carver.
Services for Dorothy Leliosh will begin with a funeral ceremony at 3:00 p.m., and will continue with visitation from 3:30 until 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet, IL 60431. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services and interment in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Oncology-Hematology Associates, Ltd., 2614 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, IL 60435 would be appreciated.
