Obituary of Diane B. Jebens
Diane B. Jebens, age 80, of Minooka, IL passed away December 10, 2021 at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born August 5, 1941 in Chicago, IL to the late Thomas and Mary Wilson.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Curtis Jebens; her loving children, Stephen (Michele) Jebens, Lisa Jebens-Poorman, and Thomas (Kathleen) Jebens; adoring grandchildren, Katie (Richard) Oswald, Alison Jebens (Brandon Hochstatter), Melissa Jebens (Jordan Kremer), Thomas Poorman, Meghan Poorman, Lindsay (William) McMillan, and Austin Glover; great-grandma of Preston, Madelyn, Chloe, Billy, Parker, and her third great-granddaughter due in January.
Diane grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago until she moved to Minooka in 1972. She was a realtor for Spring Realty for 32 years, retiring in 2008. In 1972, she and Curt opened, owned and operated the TePee Hut Restaurant in Minooka.
She was a member of River of Life Lutheran Church in Channahon, where she was a member of the church choir. With her love of singing, she also sang with the Sweet Adelines Midwest Crossroads Choir for over 30 years.
During their retirement, Diane loved planning and going on vacations and cruises with Curt. They traveled to Europe, the Mediterranean, and to Alaska…just to name a few. Diane also had a passion for bargain hunting and shopping, which she shared with her family. Family vacations always included a trip to an amusement park, with roller coasters being her all-time favorite.
Visitation for Diane B. Jebens will be held Tuesday, December 14 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Additional visitation will be Wednesday, December 15, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. at River of Life Lutheran Church, 24901 S. Sage St., Channahon, IL. Inurnment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
