Obituary of Marianne Gulas

Gulas, Marianne (nee Colbert) Age 52. Peacefully, Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, surrounded by her family and friends, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Joliet, she was a lifelong Joliet area resident. Employed by Jewel Food Store in the deli with over 20 years of service. Her greatest love in life was spending time with her family and friends. Preceded in death by her father, Robert Colbert (2010); and one infant brother, Robert. Survived by two sons, Bobby and Tom Gulas both of Joliet; her mother, Jeanne (nee Bertino) Colbert of Joliet; one sister, Sue (John) Kochalka of Joliet; two brothers, Jim (Gayle) Colbert of Shorewood, and Michael (Marie) Colbert of Naperville; five nieces and nephews, Jackie and Michael Kochalka; Jim and Jeff Colbert; and Stephanie Colbert. Also survived by her children's father, Dan Gulas; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends and her loving companion, Mike Dyer. Funeral Services for Marianne Gulas will be Friday, March 4, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Fr. James Lennon officiating. As it was Marianne's request, Cremation Rites have been accorded. Inurnment Resurrection Cemetery.
