Obituary of Dawn Susan Cammack
Dawn Susan Cammack
(née Cole)
Dawn Susan Cammack, passed away peacefully, at the age of 54, on Monday, December 27, 2021. Dawn was born on March 3, 1967, in Blue Island, IL, the daughter of Donald and JoAnn (née Pence) Cole. Dawn grew up in Midlothian and was a graduate of Oak Forest Christian Academy. She raised her family with her husband Scott in Plainfield, IL, and enjoyed her final years in The Villages, FL.
The wife, mother, and granddaughter of police officers, Dawn’s devotion to her community over self was woven throughout her life. She was a devoted mother who worked in a variety of roles within the Plainfield School District in order to share more time with her kids. She enjoyed new experiences and cruising the Caribbean with her husband and family. A hospitable woman, Dawn greeted everyone with a wide smile and the comfortability of an old friend. You could find her poolside, working on her latest crafts, or simply enjoying the company of her high school sweetheart. If you had asked Dawn what her biggest accomplishment in life had been, she would have said raising two amazing children and watching them start families of their own.
Dawn is survived by her loving husband, Scott Cammack of The Villages, FL; children, Breanna (Joshua) Jansa of Stillwater, OK, and Cody (Amanda) Cammack of Minooka, IL; five adored grandchildren, Ainsley, Avery, Gatlin, Ezra, and Hudson; her parents, Donald and JoAnn Cole of The Villages, FL; one sister Tami (Bob) Riney of Minooka, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded by her nephew, Andrew Hegeduis.
