Obituary of Ernestina Gutierrez

Ernestina M. Gutierrez (Saldana) Passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Survived by her children, Gilbert Jr. (Gloria) Gutierrez, Martha Aguirre, Daniel (Sharyn Underwood) Gutierrez, John Gutierrez, Elena (Dwayne) Dolnak and Theresa (Alphonse) Mejia; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Salvatore Saldana; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert "Beto" Sr. (1987). A long time Joliet resident, she and her husband were the proprietors of El Nuevo Centinario Grocery Store located on Collins Street, which they started in 1953. She was a long time parishioner at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Funeral Services for Ernestina M. Gutierrez will be Monday, November 9, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 407 Irving Street, Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
