Obituary of Nikola Jurjevich
Nikola “Nick” Jurjevich, age 90, of Shorewood, passed away peacefully, Monday, February 7, 2022 at Lightways Hospice.
Born October 12, 1931 in Croatia, he was the son of the late Milé and Marića (Hielmann) Jurjevich. He married the love of his life, Jo Ann R. (Seil) Jurjevich, and they enjoyed 30 years of marriage until her passing on November 1, 2014.
Nick worked in maintenance for GAF for over 20 years and then worked for Lewis University until retirement.
He was a member and Past President of the Croatian Cultural Club and loved visiting the casinos. He was affectionately known by family and friends as “Uncle Nick.”
He is survived by two nephews, Nick (Ana) Dukovac of Shorewood and Mario (Pam) Dukovac; one niece, Mirjana (Lee) Gesme of Long Grove; and several great-nieces.
Visitation for Nick Jurjevich will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m., at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
