Obituary of Shirley M. Senffner
Shirley M. Senffner, age 88, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Friday, February 18, 2022 at Lightways Hospice Home, with her family by her side.
Born April 17, 1933 in Joliet, she was the daughter of the late Axel and Anna (Werner) Moody. She married the love of her life, Robert L. Senffner, and they enjoyed 46 years of marriage until his passing on May 17, 2000. Her three brothers, Buddy (Mary), Herbie (Lorraine) and Gordie Moody also preceded her in death.
Shirley is survived by her loving children, Kenneth (Cindy Kolich) Senffner, Deborah (Harvey “T-Bird”) Huckstep, and Victor Senffner; her adoring grandchildren, Jamie (Frank) Citarelli, Dustin (Amy) Huckstep, Jenna (Kraig) Martin, Justin (fiancé Ashley Smith) Senffner, and Kaylee Senffner; and seven precious great-grandchildren, Kendall and Kaycee Martin, Anthony and Gianna Citarelli, Oliver and Jane Huckstep, and Annistyn Grice; one sister-in-law, Fran Moody; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Shirley always put the needs of others first, and worried about everyone else before herself. She was kind, caring and compassionate and loved time spent with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her cooking and baking, her skill at playing cards and games, especially Rummy and Bunco, and her love for her beloved dog, Tiger. She also loved wrestling and never missed a WWE match on television. The seat on the backyard swing is empty now.
