Obituary of Eugene E. Ziller
Age 88, of Plainfield, IL, passed away peacefully at home Friday evening, February 18, 2022. He was born May 10, 1933 to the late Clara (Malfatti) and Faustino Ziller in Joliet, IL where he resided for many years until he moved to Plainfield. A U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War who earned the rank of Corporal.
Beloved husband of 65 years to the late Josephine (Grewenig) Ziller; loving father of Joseph Ziller (deceased), Robin (Ron) Quast, Robert Ziller, Eugene (Alice) Ziller and Patricia (Sal) Corso; devoted grandfather of Eric; Shelly, Ron; Nicole, Tiffany, John, Cory; Eugene, Seth, Gabriel; Hailey and Hayden; proud great grandfather of 13. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to Josephine, his wife of 65 years, Gene is also preceded in death by two brothers, Pete Nagra and John Nagra.
Mr. Ziller retired from Dawes Laboratory (A & L Labs) after many years of service as a Maintenance Engineer.
Visitation for Eugene Ziller will be Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd) Joliet. Funeral services will take place Thursday, February 24, 2022 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Anne Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Pass in Oswego, IL where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville, IL.
