Obituary of Pedro Morales
Age 82, of Rockdale, IL passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 at home. He was born August 1, 1939 in Texas, the son of the late Vivianna and Felipe Morales.
Pete, a United States Navy Veteran served his Country proudly during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He is the beloved husband of 59 years to Mary Lou (Guardiola) Morales; loving and devoted father of Luis (Holly) Morales and Sarita (Eric) Woerheide; proud Papa of Landon, Ava and Thea; dear brother of Felipe (Lupe) Morales, Jr, Tina Eplin and Lupe Cavazos. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Genaro and Alejandro Morales; two sisters, Rosa Nava and Martina Morales in infancy.
Pete was employed for 35 years at Caterpillar Inc, retiring in 1997 after 35 years of service. He also worked at Toys R Us for 17 years. Never idle, Pete kept an immaculate lawn, loved to garden and really enjoyed serving his community of Rockdale as a volunteer EMT/Firefighter as well as being a trustee for the Fire Department and the Zoning Board.
Visitation for Pete Morales will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd) Joliet. Funeral services will be Friday morning, March 4, 2022 at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
