Obituary of Charles E. Culp
Charles E. Culp, age 86, of Joliet, IL passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in Shorewood, IL. He was born April 12, 1935 in Gilbertsville, KY to the late Arlene and Floyd E. Culp.
Charles grew up on a farm in Benton, KY. He moved to the Joliet area to find employment. He worked for Unit Step Company in Rockdale, IL for 45 years, retiring in 2000. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling the United States with his family and friends.
He married, Barbara (nee Burris), on June 30, 1956 and they spent 65 loving years together. He is also survived by his loving daughters, Deborah (Charles) Horaz and Sharon (Tom) Studer; his beloved grandchildren, Shawn Hall, Kristen, C.J., Adam (Tanya) Kolodziej, Ben (Stephanie) Studer and Kaitlyn Studer; his adoring great-grandchildren, Adam Jr. “A.J.”, Brynlee, Hayden, Fabrició, Samantha, C.J. and Lily; his sisters, Sue (the late Jerry) Wynn and Patricia (Jim) Defew; sister in-law, Nancy Culp; brother in-law; Jerry Wagner; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Arlene and Floyd E. Culp; siblings, Harvey Culp, Kathryn (the late Tom) Dowdy, Carolyn (the late Don) Sturges, Bobby (the late Darla) Culp; in-laws, Merida and Dorothy Burris; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Wagner.
