Obituary of Robert Halweg
Robert L. Halweg
Age 80. Passed away Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Lakewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Plainfield. Born August 30, 1927 in Joliet, he was a lifelong resident. He was a Chemical Operator for over 30 years for Olin Chemical Corp. (Blockson Works). A WWII Veteran of the U.S. Navy Air Force, he was in the torpedo bomber squadron. Member of VFW Cantigny Post #367, and the American Legion Post #1080. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
Survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Theresa (nee Ulisse) Halweg of Joliet; two sons, Robert C. (LeeAnn) Halweg of Minooka and Steven (Debra) Halweg of Arroyo Grande, CA; four grandchildren, Nicole Marie (Robert) Roberson, Leah Louise (Anthony) Ardolino, Shannon Marie Halweg and Tyler Halweg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Frances (nee O'Mara) Halweg; and one sister, Janice Oldham.
Private Services for Robert L. Halweg were held on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery. There was no visitation. Arrangements by:
