Obituary of Karen Denise Bouchea
Karen Denise Bouchea, age 63, passed away peacefully at her home in Joliet, on Saturday, April 30, 2022, surrounded by the love of her family. Karen was born in Ripley, MS, on July 10, 1958, the daughter of the late Loyd and Mary “Nana” (nee Graves) Edge. She grew up in the Joliet area and attended Joliet Central High School. Karen retired from Silver Cross Hospital after 25 dedicated years as an ER Tech.
She was a former member of Moran Club and Pure Rod and Gun Club in Plainfield.
In her free time, Karen enjoyed everything that the outdoors had to offer. She loved gardening, being at the beach, and relaxing next to the water with a fishing rod in her hand. Above everything, she loved her family more than words could say.
Karen is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, John Patrick Bouchea; her two sons, Bobby (Carla) Brandom and Tony (Melissa) Remus; six grandchildren, Emily, Jonathan, Jillian, Nate, Brayden, and Madison; one great-grandchild, Myla; three siblings, David (Patty) Edge, James (Linda) Edge, and Kathy Gebhardt; and her faithful canine companions, Bella and Cricket. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She is preceded by her parents.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 1:00p.m. until the time of Service at 5:00 p.m. As it was her request, cremation rites have been accorded.
