Obituary of Porfirio Zamudio
Age 81, of Joliet, IL passed away peacefully, Saturday afternoon, May 14, 2022 at Lightways Hospice Home of Joliet.
He was born on September 15, 1940 to the late Alejandra and Bardomiano Zamudio in Cepio, Mexico.
Porfirio is the beloved husband of Savina Zamudio; loving father of Jose (Silvia), Norma (Jaime), Alejandro (Lupe), Lupe (Juan), Monica (Israel) and Adriana (Alex); proud grandfather of Alexander and Karen; Marco, Karina and Jaime; Alondra and Elizeo; Sofia, Camila, Daniela and Alex; Victoria; Julian, Alonso and Elena. He is also survived by several siblings and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Porfirio retired from the Gateway Company after many years of dedicated service. He will be remembered fondly as a hard working family man who dedicated his life to those he loved the most.
Visitation for Porfirio will be Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. Funeral services will begin Wednesday morning, May 18, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 205 E. Jackson St., Joliet where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at a later date in Porfirio’s home town of Cepio.
