Carol Mae Walden

Carol Mae Walden, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the Lightways Hospice home in Joliet. Carol was born in Joliet on June 28, 1934, to the late Fred and Henrietta Clemans.  She married Donald D. Walden, Sr. and the two enjoyed 57 years of marriage together before Don’s passing in 2017. Carol was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Joliet, and volunteered much of her time with the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 1080.

Carol is survived by her children, Brian (Lisa) Walden and Don (Dena) Walden, Jr.; and her beloved grandchildren, Colin and Tyler Walden. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Walden, Sr.; her parents; and her sister, Arlene Duerr.

As it was Carol’s wish, cremation rites have been accorded. All friends and relatives are invited to join in a celebration of her life to be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the Grace United Methodist Church, 1750 Avalon Ave (at Larkin Ave) in Joliet from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:00 p.m.  Inurnment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431.
