Obituary of Dixie Jo Placko

Age 70, of Porter, IN and formerly Bloomingdale, IL, passed from this life Monday, June 6, 2022.

Dixie was born June 10, 1951 to the late Dixie (Bennett) and Ronald Wood in Chicago, IL.  She was raised in Park Ridge, IL and graduated from Maine South High School.

She is the loving mother of Heather (Matt) Rhyne and Chad (April) Placko; proud grandmother of Dylan, Max, Brennen, Sophie, Presley, Caylee and Cami  Joy.  Also surviving are her brother, Doug (Shelly) Wood and three nephews, Ben, Zach and Jacob.

Preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Ron Placko.

All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet.  A prayer service will conclude the evening, beginning at 8 p.m.

As it was Dixie’s wish cremation rites have been accorded.
