Dear Kurt,
We were fortunate enough to have Karen join our family in 1980 when she accepted your marriage proposal, yet she settled in as family even before your marriage. Karen was a vibrant woman, both strong-willed and kind-hearted, firm in her beliefs but also empathic to the needs of others. When Karen trusted you with her love, her attachment to you was eternal. She gave every part of her being to her family, her sons Ron and Michael, whom she raised to be family men like their father, daughter Amanda, who she taught by example to always give to family beyond measure, and her beloved grandchildren, Emily, Annie, Joey and Jack, who provided her endless happiness and pride. Because of her deep love for family, I know Karen is still here for us. Every time we think of Karen, recall a fond memory of her, see a beautiful garden or taste food made with love, Karen will be making her presence known with the love she gifted us. I'm glad she was my sister-in-law but especially happy we were sisters at heart. My most heartfelt
sympathies to you, Kurt, and to the beautiful family you created with Karen.
