Obituary of Christine D. Max

Christine D. Max, age 56, of Braceville, IL, formerly of Shorewood, IL passed away with her loving family at her side on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet, IL.  She was born June 15, 1966 in Joliet, IL to Donna S. (nee Rasmussen) and John J. Kokal, Jr.

Christine lived in the Joliet/Shorewood area most of her life.   She had fun in the sun, loved to travel, and had the best and most infectious laugh.  Her life was filled with and revolved around her family.  Her husband was the love of her life and her sisters were her partners in crime.  She supported her children and most of all was the “Best Grandma in the World.”  She loved being there to help, transport, and encourage.

Christine is survived by her beloved husband of 14 years, Edward Max; her mother, Donna S. Wines; her loving children, Jason S. Hicks, Cody M. (Elyssa) Engelhardt, Danielle L. (Thomas) Jurgens, and Shannon R. (Kevin) Buzzard; adoring grandchildren, Harlow Engelhardt, Sienna Jurgens, Aiden Buzzard, Shae Buzzard, Brody Buzzard, Madeline Engelhardt, Emilia Engelhardt, and Shiloh Jurgens; dear sister of Donna (Levi) Benegas, Ronda Isberg, Marjorie (Jeff) Watson, and Anna Wines; godson, Emmett; many nieces, nephews and dear friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her father, John J. Kokal, Jr; brother, John Kokal III; and sister, Linda Alltop.

A Memorial Visitation will be Saturday, July 16, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black (at Essington Roads), Joliet, IL.  Inurnment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet, IL.
