Obituary of Catherine Wendy Lee
Catherine Wendy Lee, age 44, of Naples, FL passed away Monday, June 20, 2022, at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. She was born January 30, 1978 in Joliet, IL to Wendy Ng and Que T. Lee.
Cat grew up in the Joliet/Plainfield area and graduated from Plainfield High School, University of St. Francis, and earned her Master's Degree in Intellectual Disabilities & Students with Autism from the University of South Florida.
As a teacher, Cat was a fierce advocate for her students. Her legacy remains in the lives she made such a difference in. She was an avid fanatic of anything Disney, especially Walt Disney World with her Sissy & Disney Besties, Leah & Kristina. Cat enjoyed scrapbooking, shopping, NASCAR, Maroon 5, and her Pugs. Her sweet tooth was legendary, especially Disney treats of Dole Whips, chocolate covered strawberries, rice crispy treats, cinnamon rolls (from Gaston’s), and churros. Her warrior spirit, strength, and determination inspires those who witnessed her battle to call her “Our Wonder Woman”.
Cat’s gratitude to her “Moffitt Family” of nurses, techs, and doctors lead her to call the 4 South unit her Moffitt Home. Her family, especially her Sissy, are thankful for the excellent care, compassion, and love they provided over the past several years. There are no words to express the love and appreciation we have for her home health nurse, Glenda, whose care always went above and beyond.
Catherine is survived by her Sissy, Ali French, parents, Wendy and Que Lee & “adopted” mother, Alice French; her brother, Marlon Lee; Her niece & nephew, Autumn & Stefan Lee. As well as many lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and “adopted” father George French.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Give Kids The World, who provide trips to Walt Disney World for children battling cancer and their families. https://give.gktw.org/CatLeeMemorial
