Obituary of Charlotte Lorene Wright
Age 82, of Joliet, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the Lightways Hospice Home. She was born on December 11, 1939 to the late Winnie Lowe in Tennessee, where she was raised. Charlotte went on to meet the love of her life, husband, Newell Wright, Jr., whom she spent over 60 years happily married until his passing in 2019.
In the late 50's Charlotte relocated to Joliet due to Newell's work at Fisher Body. Eventually, they opened their own business together, C & N Vending. In their free time together you could find them often bowling, and Charlotte loved to watch him bowl just as much as she enjoyed bowling herself. She could also be frequently seen at the slot machine of the casinos. Nothing brought her more joy then raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charlotte has been a member of the Joliet Elks Auxiliary, Joliet Eagles Auxiliary, the Joliet Moose Lodge, and the Joliet Rivals Auxiliary for many years.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Julie) Wright of Minooka and Larry (Tina) Wright of Joliet; grandchildren, Holly (Christina) Wright, Felicia (Drew) Rinehart, Elyse Wright and Timothy (Maggie) Wright; great-grandchildren, Damon Davis, Aubrey, Olyvia and Raelynn Rinehart, Fletcher, Georgia and Kohler Wright; brother, Charles Lyles; dear sister-in-law, Beverly (late J) Dishman; dear friend Kim Mandekich; and her beloved fur baby, Flash Gordon.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Newell Wright, Jr.; her mother; sister, Joyce (late Jason) Terry; and brother, Tom Lyles.
