Obituary of Raymond Leo Goron
Mr. Raymond Leo Goron passed away peacefully, at the age of 96, on September 4, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Raymond was born in Joliet, Illinois on November 13, 1924, the son of the late Gabriel Goron and Catherine (Szmidt) Goron.
He served in the United States Army during World War II, where he served in Europe until his discharge in 1946.
Raymond was married to his loving and devoted wife, Dolores (nee Strysik) for 64 years.
Raymond was a member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus in Joliet, IL. He was known as the handyman of the family, where he was always called upon to fix everyone’s problems, which he did with a smile. He was an attentive father and doted on his grandchildren. Ray loved to attend his grandsons’ baseball games and his granddaughters’ soft ball games.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife Dolores; his daughters, Janet (Joe) Contreras, and Mary Therese Goron-Corpus; his grandchildren, Nolana, Justin (Clare), Kekai (Rhea), and Maile (Derek). He is also survived by his great-grandsons, Marley, Judah, Ira and Keegan; and great-granddaughter, Kaylee.
He is greatly missed by all of us. You are “our” star Pa!
