Obituary of Jon Harshbarger

Jon L. Harshbarger Age 71, of Joliet, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010 at home with his family by his side. He was born November 3, 1938 in Streator, IL to the late Icell and Gladys (nee Willavize) Harshbarger. He married Janice M. (nee Borghetti) Harshbarger, and on September 12, 2009 they celebrated their 50th Anniversary. Jon worked as a boilermaker over 30 years for Local #1, Chicago, retiring in 1999. He also worked for Chicago Bridge and Iron. An avid movie fan, he especially enjoyed traveling the high seas on the 17 cruises he and Janice completed together. Survived by his beloved wife, Janice; his devoted children, Richard Harshbarger of Joliet, Susan (Christian) Gossman of Joliet, and Julie (Steven) Puntney of Naperville; six adoring grandchildren; and one special great-grandson. Funeral services for Jon L. Harshbarger will be Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator.
