Richard “Dick” E. Cota
Age 89, of Joliet, IL and formerly Chicago, passed from this life Thursday September 8, 2022 at Lightways Hospice Home of Joliet.
Dick was born January 4, 1933 in Chicago to the late Thelma (Friend) and Harold Cota.
He is the beloved husband of Rowena (Hyde) Cota; loving father of Thomas (Nancy) Cota, Ronald (René) Cota and Donna Cota (Sandy Bargiel); dearest step-father of Dan (Diana) Strezo, Debora (Michael) Dennis, Darryl (Tammy) Strezo, Roxane Strezo, Ralph (Tracey) Strezo, Betty Ann Strezo and Lisa (Jim) Graca. Dick was also a proud and devoted grandfather and great-grandfather. Also surviving are a sister, Shirley Kopoulos, sister-in-law Mary Cota, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; eldest son, Richard Lee Cota; siblings, Doris (George) Michelin, Harold Cota, Betty (Rick) Russo, Geraldine (Rudy) De Muro and brother-in-law, John Kopoulos.
Dick was a retired union truck driver who logged many miles over the course of the years.
As it was Dick’s wish cremation rites have been accorded and services will be held privately.
