Donald P. McCormack
Donald P. McCormack, 77, of Mazon, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2022, at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, IL. Born in Morris on August 12, 1945, he was the son of Forrest and Martha (Petry) McCormack.
Don was a graduate of Mazon-Verona-Kinsman High School, Class of 1963. He married Janet Hill on July 20, 1973, at Verona Methodist Church and they resided in rural Morris. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1968. He was employed with Caterpillar Inc. in Joliet for 35 years. Don enjoyed gardening, reading, golf, and his Toy Manchester Terriers.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; sister, Helen Griffiths; brothers, Charles (Marge) McCormack, Forrest "Cork" McCormack, William McCormack, James McCormack, and Kenneth (Raynell) McCormack.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; brother, LaVerne "Bud" McCormack; sister, Dorothy Ashbaugh Haas; three brothers-in-law, and four sisters-in-law.
Visitation for Donald McCormack will be Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 pm at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 (at Deerpath Dr.) in Morris. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 7, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Mazon Brookside Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Mazon American Legion Post #352. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Don's name to Lightways Hospice or Lurie Children's Hospital.
