Obituary of Barbara Ann Stancik
Barbara Stancik, of Morris, passed away peacefully, Monday, October 3, 2022, in the comfort of her home. Barbara was born on November 27, 1932 in Crown Point, IN to the late Lester and Dorothy Long.
She and her late husband Richard were the owners of several establishments including the Satellite Lounge and the Porterhouse Restaurant in Bridgeview, as well as Maggie Mays in Orland Park. Her most important role though was as mother and grandmother.
Survived by her loving children, James (the late Beverly) Stancik of Mokena, Caryn Stancik of Hinsdale, Herb (Susan) Stancik of Oak Forest, Nancy (Larry) Burgan of Pontiac, IL, and Lynn Stancik of Morris; devoted grandmother of Kristie Stancik, Jamie Stancik; Chelsy Gleixner; Cali Stancik; Angela Cooper and Tom (Ashley) Adams; proud great-grandmother of John, Desire, Alice, Jace, Elliot, and Magdalene May; her sisters Marilyn (the late Glenn) Miller, Janet (Keith) Nebeker, and Christine (Kenneth) Koval; sister-in-law Marlene Long; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded by her loving husband of 54 years, Richard Stancik (2014); her first husband, Herbert Allan; daughter, Mary Ann (Jerrold) Adams (2020); her parents; and her brother James Long.
Barbara was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Morris, and a former member of St. Louis DeMontfort Parish in Oak Lawn, IL where she resided for many years.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022, from 4:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Dr. in Morris. Funeral services will begin Saturday morning with prayers at 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 E. Jackson Street in Morris, where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private at St .Casimir Cemetery in Chicago.
