We moved to Shorewood in 1991, Don has been our neighbor. We were connected by our back yards. He spent many a day here fixing lawn mowers, snowblowers, trapping skunks, chipmunks etc. Don was a great neighbor and friend, he would share pieces of his delicious pies when he would bake, and even tried without much success to teach me his pie baking ability.
He loved chocolate and when I could,I would visit and bring him candy bars, I will miss Don, stubborn as he was, me and my husband had many an enjoyable conversation over politics, current events and the world as it was.
He loved kids, spoke so highly of his grandchildren, he was a very proud grandpa, and always treated my grandchildren so kind, always letting them play in his yard as well as ours.
So farewell my neighbor, you will always be remembered and missed.
