My condolences to the Wutkus and family. George was always referred to as “Big George” in our community. Generations of Our community met him through his love of baseball, and that’s where I first met him. He didn’t miss a game in my 4 years of high school ball from 1994-98. He also made it a point to come watch me play college ball. Our small community welcomes few outsiders into our lives, especially a guy from Chicago, but George was one of the few that broke the barrier to become a local. His Rodney Dangerfield impression was always on too. He was and always will be part of the ball team. RIP Big George.

George was a great person. We met in early 2000 when I was a recruit and sprained my ankle pretty bad. George was the only instructor who went out of his way to help keep my spirits up after I worried I’d be put on the injured list and have to start all over again. I hung in there and made it through thanks to George. Even though we had never met prior to that, he treated me with dignity. I’ll always remember him for that. We remained friends since then. Please accept my deepest condolences to the family of such a good-hearted person. Rest In Peace George.
