Hedstrom, Wayne L.
Age 83. Passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011. Born in Blue Island, IL, he was a resident of Joliet since 1960.
Survived by his fiancee and beloved companion, Shirley M. Noel; her daughter Debby M. Noel and her grandchildren, Chad Mather and Nicole Vitek.
Preceded in death by his wife, Naomi M. (Meiners) 1989; and his parents, Laurence A. and Alma (Herbert) Hedstrom.
A U. S. Army Veteran of W.W.II. Employed in engineering for over 40 years, with over 25 years with the Illinois Department of Transportation.
He was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church (for over 40 years), serving as a Deacon and Elder. A member of Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. A member of the Joliet Elks Lodge #296, serving as Exalted Ruler and District Deputy. A member of the Moose Lodge #300, American Legion Post #5 and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2199.
As it was Wayne's wishes, there will be no visitation. Private services were held at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel. Memorials to the Elks National Foundation or Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Arrangements by:
