Obituary of Kenneth J. Kus

Kenneth J. Kus, 78, died on December 2nd, 2022, at his daughter’s home surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Kus. Ken was born on September 16th, 1944 and grew up In Chicago. He enjoyed playing sports on the blacktops of 26th and Pulaski with friends and having pizza at Home Run Inn. Ken worked for the Railroad for over 30 years starting with GM&O, IL Central, CNIC, and finally retiring from the Canadian National. He had many close friends from Glen Yard to Markham and always had stories to share.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carole. They met through a close friend at a bowling alley in 1969 and married a few short years later. They shared laughter and life with their friends and two children, Thomas Kus and Karyn Kus-Horan in Justice, Illinois, before retiring to sunny Sun City, Arizona. Ken was always beyond delighted spending time with his wife and following sports. He is also survived and missed by his grandchildren, Chelsea, Allison, Travis, Kyrsten, Chase and Alex, as well as great grandkids, Carson, and Avyanna.

Kenny will always be remembered, and all friends and family are invited to share memories and love with a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the Victory City Church, 1741 Essington Rd, Joliet from 10:00 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. Luncheon to follow at Merichka’s Restaurant in Crest Hill.
