Age 93, of Joliet, IL and late of the Inn at Willow Falls, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022.  She was born September 15, 1929, to the late Corrine and Louis Carra in Joliet where she resided her entire life.  She attended Joliet Grade Schools and graduated with the class of 1947 from Joliet Township High School.
On September 27, 1947, Gloria married Martin “Teno” Ferro at the Church of St. Anthony in Joliet.  

In addition to Teno, her beloved husband of 61 years, Gloria is also preceded in death by her parents, Louis Carra and Corrine (nee Cardini) Norman, as well as her stepfather, Earl Norman; brother, Ray Carra; son-in-law, Ron Sulzer; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Norman.

Surviving is her daughter, Nancy Ferro Sulzer of Plainfield; two sons, David (Fran) Ferro of Channahon and Bernie (Ellen) Ferro of Wilmington; one grandson, Aaron (Mayme) Studer of Joliet; brother, Gerald Norman of Morris; sister-in-law, Jean Carra of Joliet, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.

Gloria retired from Troy School District 30-C after serving for many years in the cafeteria at the original Troy Grammar School.
She will forever remain in the hearts of her family.

The Ferro family will always remain grateful to the staff at Willow Falls for the wonderful care afforded Gloria.

Visitation for Gloria Ferro will be Tuesday, December 20, 2022, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet.  Visiting will resume Wednesday morning, December 21, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. until services begin at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorials in her name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
