Diane, Betsy, and Andy we send our sincerest condolences to all of you. Henry was a special man and a good friend. We have so many wonderful memories and two we hold dear are the time Henry called and asked me if I wanted him to come down and run around our house with jingle bells so that the kids would think Santa was here. He did this for Betsy and then came to our house ringing the bells. My kids were so excited and hurried to bed. The other time was when he came to help us when our little dog Heidi was caught in the whistle under our driveway. We were frantic and Roy wasn't home. Henry came down with a jack and we were able to finally get her out. He was just a special man. Those special memories you all have of him will keep him in your lives forever. Bonnie & Roy

We will remember Henry as a kind and generous soul to humans and animals. We will also remember him as a local historian. Maple, our dog, would always make a beeline for Henry and Diane's house. Not for the treat box--but to go up to the front door to see if Henry was available. As Maple received attention from Henry, we would learn about Joliet history, since we were relatively new to the area. We loved our visits to the Bales. Henry, may you rest in peace knowing you touched so many. Diane, may you gather strength from fond memories. And for the rest of the family, know that he talked about you with joy.
