Obituary of Marilyn J. Hernandez

Marilyn J. Hernandez, age 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center. Born on March 6, 1935 in Lockport, IL to the late Threll and Helen Childers, Marilyn was a Joliet area resident for the majority of her life. On August 8, 1953, Marilyn married Royal Hernandez in Joliet, and the two would have celebrated 70 years of marriage this August.  Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved the Lord, and she will be greatly missed.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband Royal Hernandez; her children, Connie (Steve) Bilik, Guy (Cheryl) Hernandez, and Cindy (the late Nick) Quas; her grandchildren, Dennis Bilik, David (Sara) Bilik, Nicole (Joe) Smith, Tracy Doll, and Zachary Quas; and her great grandchildren, Bella, Jaxon, Cameron, Jacob, Jordan, and Damien.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Saralea Vicich; and brother Pete Childers.

Funeral services for Marilyn J. Hernandez will be Friday, March 10, 2023 with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. and concluding with services at 12:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black (at Essington) Rd., Joliet. Interment to follow at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet.
