Obituary of Donna Hester

Donna L. Hester (nee Steinbrenner) Age 60. Peacefully Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Chicago and a long time New Lenox resident. A graduate of Lincoln Way High School class of 1966. A graduate of Joliet Junior College Nursing program. Retired from the Dr. Ross Ophthalmologist office as a nurse. Former registered nurse at Silver Cross Hospital. Previously employed as a travel agent with The Travel Bag in New Lenox. A member at Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church in Braidwood, IL; attended Zion Lutheran Church in Beecher, IL and was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Lenox and Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Mokena. Donna and her husband were members of the Tri-Chevy Association Classic Car Club. Preceded by her husband Jerry Hester (2000). Survived by her daughter, Paula (Ronald) Martineau; one son, Jonathan Hester; two grandchildren Mitchell and Monica Martineau; two sisters, Vivian (Donald) Pohlmann and Gail (David) Oesterblad; one brother, Lee (Mary) Steinbrenner; one aunt, Mildred (the late John) Steinbrenner. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral Services for Donna L. Hester will be Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 508 N. Cedar Road, New Lenox, IL. As it was Donna's request, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church, pursuant to her request, in her name would be appreciated.
