Obituary of Michael Hettinger
Michael J. Hettinger
Age 50, of Joliet, and formerly of Oak Park, passed away suddenly Friday, November 13, 2009 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center emergency room. Born December 7, 1958 in Chicago, he was a graduate of Fenwick High School and St. Mary University, Winona, MN.
Mike was an avid hunter, fisherman and Cubs fan. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and its Men's Club, and an active volunteer in the community.
Beloved husband of 22 years to Kathryn (nee Ross) Hettinger; devoted father of Michael, Daniel, Ashley, Megan and Keri, all of Joliet; loving grandfather of Melody; fond brother of Kathy (Paul) Bordenkircher and Robert F. Hettinger; brother-in law to Richard and Michael Ross and Debi Levault; uncle to Bob, John and Will Hettinger, Corey, Connor, Shannon and Kelsey Heidkamp, Tricia (Jesse) Evans, Mike and Paul Bordenkircher, and Sheila, Richard and Franklin Ross; great uncle to Mitchell; son-in-law to Myron and Ethel Ross; and cousin of Annamarie (Randall) Rohner, Edward (Vickie) Runnion, and Laura Hunt. He was also survived by his faithful companion, Stitch.
Preceded by his parents, Robert and Barbara (nee Hunt) Hettinger.
Funeral services for Michael Hettinger will be Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Patrick's Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment Oakridge Cemetery, Hillside.
