1938 - 2023
Kenneth Michael Zelazny, late of Joliet, Illinois, passed away on June 9, 2023 at home with his loving family by his side.
Kenneth was born on August 13, 1938 in Hammond, Indiana. He was passionate about agriculture and animals and dedicated his life to working in the field of agriculture. He graduated from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and worked as an auditor for the United States Department of Agriculture and the State of Illinois Department of Agriculture.
Kenneth recently celebrated his 58th Wedding Anniversary with his beloved wife Patricia and was known for his intellectual curiosity and expansive knowledge on a variety of topics. His warm charm and jovial personality made him a popular figure, and he was a staunch advocate of higher education having raised a medical doctor, attorney and certified public accountant, and gifted interior designer. Kenneth's hobbies included polka music, nature, hunting, fishing, and being a connoisseur and enthusiastic consumer of vintage candies.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Patricia Marie Zelazny; son, Eric Gerard Zelazny; and daughter, Tricia Marie Zelazny.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his son, Dr. Anthony Michael Zelazny; his father, Dr. Anthony Zelazny; and his mother, Estelle Zelazny.
Family and friends are invited to gather in honor of Kenneth at Fred C Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington) Joliet, Illinois on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 3:00 pm- 7:00 pm.
